Jean Womble Bennett

Eva Jean Womble Bennett, age 84, of Nashville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Ollin and Eva Pearl Pittman Womble; and her two sisters, Mary Ann Womble Thrower and Nancy Lee Womble.

Jean is survived by her loving brother, Jack Womble (Brenda) of Chesterfield, Virginia and her nieces and nephews, Judy Thrower, Walter Thrower (Susan), Robin Autry (Jeff), Cathy Gusti (Shawn), and Tim Womble (Liz).

Jean is also survived by her beloved extended family, Debbie Hardy, Angie Ayscue (Tommy), Valerie, Jessica Ayscue, Cody Ayscue (Brandy), and Hunter Ayscue (Sidney). Jean made her home with Angie and Tommy, where she enjoyed the warmth and companionship of family. She shared a special bond with Angie’s children and grandchildren, whom she loved as her own. Their years together were filled cherished memories, laughter, and a deep sense of belonging.

The family extends special heartfelt gratitude to Susan Thrower for her unwavering love, devotion, and care of Jean. Sincere appreciation is also extended to Andrea Minchew, Donna Worrell, and the compassionate staff of Amedisys Hospice for their kindness and dedicated care.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11:30 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, North Carolina. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville, North Carolina.
