Jean Pittman

Jean Pittman, age 65, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 14, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Martin County on January 10, 1961 to Mack and Gladys Lewis Medford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Noyel Medford, Harvey Medford and Bruce Medford.

She leaves many precious memories for her husband of almost fifty years, Henry Glenn Pittman; daughters, Lynn Pittman (Adam White) of Macclesfield and Christa Barnes (Brandon) of Canton; siblings, Sam Medford (Marie), Ray Medford (Estelle), Ann House (Haywood), Marie Harper (Jerry), all of Tarboro and Myerl Cullifer of Tennessee and sister-in-law, Lois Ann Medford of Tarboro.

Jean will also be missed by her grandchildren, David White (Catherine), Kailee White (Aaron), Wyatt Barnes, Landon Barnes, and Taylor Barnes; along with several nieces, nephews, family friends, and other extended relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Victory Praise & Worship Center, 23775 NC-125, Scotland Neck, NC 27874 and other times at the home of Marie and Jerry Harper, 217 Medford Road, Tarboro. A service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 2:00pm, also at Victory Praise & Worship Center. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jerusalem Support Center and mailed to Tarboro Church of God, 412 Shirley Street, Tarboro, NC 27886.
