Jeannie Ezzell Ruffin, age 84, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, July 13, 2023 at her home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Jeannie was born in Edgecombe County December 15, 1938 to Louis Patrick and Mamie Mears Ezzell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; step-son, Johnnie Mack Ruffin, Jr.; and her husband of fifty-eight years, Johnnie "Mack" Ruffin.

She is survived by son, Allen Dunn (Sandi); daughter, Lori Ruffin Edmondson (John); and sister-in-law, Karen Ezzell, all of Rocky Mount. She was an especially proud MaMa to her grandchildren, Kaleb Edmondson, Noah Edmondson (Kylie Carnahan), Emily Edmondson (Andrew Patrick), Tommy Ruffin (Tracey), and Joe Ruffin (Lauren); and great-grandchildren, Karsyn, Karli, and J.T. Ruffin, Addison Scott, Mack Ruffin, and Gracen Edmondson. Jeannie will also be greatly missed by her special friend, Linda Ruffin, along with many family friends, nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Oakdale Baptist Church, 13037 US Highway 64 Alt W, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.
