Jesse Willard "J.W." Peele, Jr., age 75, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at his home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was born on September 10, 1947 in Nash County to Jesse Willard Peele and Mattie Pridgen Peele, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Jesse "Scott" Peele of Red Oak; sister, Brenda Hill and husband, Chancey of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Brittany Rae Peele, Jesse Scott Peele, Jr., and Billy Ray Peele; and great-grandchild, Hunter Peele; along with other extended relatives.

J.W. was a hard-worker who was employed by various textile companies throughout the area. After leaving the textile industry, he assisted a local travel company with travel tours which he thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, he was a member of Englewood Baptist Church after making a profession of faith and being baptized. J.W. was talented in music and loved playing guitar with friends who shared similar musical interests. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 2:00PM at The Church of God, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
