With the love of her precious family surrounding her, Jewel "Reneé" Brady Stallings passed away peacefully at her home in Tarboro, NC on Tuesday afternoon, June 9, 2026 at the age of 66.
Jewel was born in Nash County, NC on June 24th, 1959. She was a loyal wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother during her time here on Earth. On July 23rd, 1976, she married the love of her heart and together they built a wonderful life centered around faith and family and leaving years of lasting memories to be cherished. Whether you knew her as Jewel or Reneé, "Nay Nay", or "Sha Nay Nay", you knew her as a loving soul who treasured her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Brady and father, John Robert Edmondson and is survived by her best friend and husband of nearly fifty years, David Stallings and sons, John David Stallings and wife, Leslie of Tarboro and Ben Joshua Stallings and wife, Amy of Pinetops. She was a beloved "Mimi" to her grandchildren, Mason and Seth Stallings; and a special sister to her older siblings, Gloria Bassos and Gary Brady, both of Greenville, and younger sister, Lou Gray and husband, Frankie of Farmville. She will also be deeply missed by her niece, Gracie Phillips and husband, John Michael of Farmville, and her nephew, Cameron Gray and wife, Sarah of Walstonburg, along with their children Matthew and Hunter, as well as many other friends and extended family members.
A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, June 12, 2026 at His Vision Ministry, 1903 Anaconda Road, Tarboro. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 am, also at His Vision Ministry.
