John Andrew Thompson, 64, passed away at Nash UNC Health Care on July 27, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gard and Elvira Thompson; sister, Elaine Bixler; and brother, Mike Thompson.

John is survived by his wife of 11 years, Melanie Godwin Thompson; children, Ian Thompson, Cameron Thompson, Tana VanderWater (Beau), all of Michigan, Kayla Thompson, of New York, and Sarah Donnelly of Rocky Mount; sisters, Teresa Price (Eddie) and Pat Baxter, all of Michigan.

While friends and family are invited to visit anytime,  a special time of remembrances and fellowship will take place on Friday, July 31, 2020, between 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at 112 Rum Barrell Cove, Rocky Mount. A Celebration of Life for Michigan family and friends will take place at a later date.
