Johnny Ray Harrell, age 66, passed away Sunday evening, November 16, 2024. He was born in Edgecombe County on March 30, 1958 to John and Ethel A. "Zooda" Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Lynn Harrell and brother, Douglas Harrell.

Johnny had a love for playing music and always loved to tell a joke. From beans, to bbq beef ribs and chicken, he knew how to throw down in the kitchen. Also, in his spare time, he enjoyed watching YouTube videos and falling asleep in his chair.

He is survived by his children, Shenna Bess and Chris Harrell (Annie), all of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Gabriel and Aiden; nephew, Douglas Harrell, Jr.; and many cousins, family friends, and other extended relatives.
