Rocky Mount -

Johnny Lee Lewis, age 76, passed peacefully to be at the feet of Jesus on July 19, 2025 after a long health battle. He fought until the very end. He was born in Rocky Mount, NC to Lee Berry and Gusta Mosely Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie Lewis and Bennett Lewis and sister, Kay Rose.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Spencer Batchelor; grandchildren, Jenna and Ryan Batchelor, all of Elm City; brothers, Pete Lewis (Lesa) of Marshville, NC and Jimmy Lewis (Linnie) of Rocky Mount; step-son, Jeffery Batts (Amy) of Spring Hope and several special nieces and nephews.

The family will host a service of celebration and remembrance at 1:00pm on August 1, 2025 at First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Church St, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to First United Methodist Church or made through their website fumcrm.org, designated to "Backpack Buddies" or "Monday Morning Breakfast", two ministries that he faithfully supported. Condolences can be mailed to Michelle Batchelor, PO Box 2175, Sharpsburg, NC 27878, or brought to Jacks Grocery, 10550 E. NC 97, where Johnny loved to get ice cream and snacks most days.
