Spring Hope –

Josh Autrey, age 14, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, February 6, 2023. He was born on March 3, 2008 in Wake County, son of Gene Thomas Autrey, Jr. and Brittany A. Trivette.

Barely a month shy of his fifteenth birthday, Josh was just learning to find his place in the world. A popular eighth grader at Bunn Middle School, he made friends easily and loved his teachers. He had a natural instinct for helping others, especially his Pawpaw at his shop. Like many teen boys, Josh enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his friends and family. He loved to laugh and his face seemed to be always fresh with a beautiful smile, sometimes mischievous, sometimes silly, but always beautiful. We will deeply miss our precious boy and never forget his place in our hearts.

In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by three older siblings, Cayden Autrey, Samara Trivette, Ryan Autrey and younger brother, Jacob Autrey; paternal grandparents, Vicky and Gene Autrey of Spring Hope; maternal grandfather, Phillip Trivette of Littleton; aunts, Elizabeth Evans (Blake) of Louisburg, Danielle and Brandy Trivette, both of Boone; uncle, Austin Trivette of Spring Hope; along with many friends and other extended family.

A service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00AM at Duke Memorial Baptist Church, 3976 NC-581 North, Louisburg, NC 27549 (GPS address). Burial will immediately follow at Duke Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM.
