Justin “J” Pearson, age 38, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1987 in Nash County to John “Steve” Pearson and Teresa Adams Pearson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas “Joe” Adams; paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Beatrice Pearson; uncle, Robbie Pearson; and his angel baby, “Butterbean”.

He is survived by his wife, Bridgette “Bree” Pearson; children, Joseph Mayfield, Ashlyn Mayfield, and Emma Pearson; parents, Steve and Teresa Pearson; brother, Daniel Pearson (Casey) of Rocky Mount; maternal grandmother, Alice “Granny” Adams; aunts and uncles, Betty Denton (Chris), Joe Adams (Shawn), Billy Pearson (Beth), all of Rocky Mount, Linda Ellis (John) of Wilson, Becky Vick (David) of Whitakers, and Sue Norris, also of Rocky Mount.

J will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Michael, Hannah, Brantley, and Addison: a special friend who was like an aunt, Susan Barnhill (Ray) of Rocky Mount; and cousins, Kristin, Ryan, Tabitha, Zachary, Haleigh, Sabrina, Greg, Jeff, Michelle, Brian, and Dennis.

He will be remembered and celebrated by his love of food, fishing, family, friends, and fellowship, all of which he took seriously and comically. He was determined to be a walking testimony to the goodness of God . Although he is not physically here on earth to do so, his loved ones will see his testimony walked out by how they honor his memory, determination, and abundance of love that he always displayed.

A Memorial Celebration of J's Life will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Evangel Christian Fellowship, 1421 Graham Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 pm, and other times at the home.
