Rocky Mount -

On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Kenny "Hammer" Rhodes, aged 58, passed away surrounded by family and friends after a short illness. Formally from Cornwall, NY, he was residing in Rocky Mount, NC. Kenny was predeceased by his parents, Caroline and Myron Rhodes, as well as his brother, Billy.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Sarah Rhodes, of Cornwall, NY, Melissa Rhodes of Puyallup, WA and step-daughter, Alicia McDonnell (Sean) from New Windsor, NY; sisters, Marietta Picard (Don) of LaGrange, NY, and Myra Jean (Claude) from Charlotte, NC; nieces, Krissy, Kerry and Laura; sister in law, Deb; nieces, Michelle and Erica; and lifelong friends, Steve, Brenda and children, Andy, Rachel, Stephanie, Danny, Matty and Hannah of Rocky Mount and Nashville, NC as well as many more friends across America.

For a change of scenery, Kenny embarked on a journey to NC to spend time with his childhood best friend, Steve Annan and his family. In his younger years he could be found at Bowling Time, fishing at the Hudson River or hanging out with friends. Kenny was well loved by many and was quick to return that love. He loved bowling, fishing, cooking, helping friends paint their homes, and sharing a cold one with anyone.

His final wishes were to be cremated and during a Celebration of Life Ceremony later this year, his ashes are to be scattered in the wind.
