Lina Mae Barnes Lee, age 67, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday night, November 27, 2022 with her devoted family by her side.

She was born in Edgecombe County on Valentine's Day, 1955, the youngest of thirteen children born to Renza Crawford and Mary Parnell Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Frank, Donald, and J. Howard Barnes and sisters, Louise Williams, Letha Braddy, Patricia Noble, and Evelyn Bridgers.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lawrence Lee; son, Vernon Lee of Tarboro; siblings, Lenora Corn of Grant, OK, Johnnie Barnes (Diane) of San Antonio, TX, Peggy Hathaway (Bruce) of Macclesfield, and James Barnes (Shirley) of Wenatchee, WA; grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan Rose Lee and Jeffrey Lee of Dannemora, NY; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Faith Freewill Holiness Church, 825 Sunset Avenue, Tarboro, NC 27886. Graveside service will be Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00am at Edgecombe Memorial Park, Tarboro, NC with Pastor Ronnie Clemmons and  Pastor Alton Clemmons officiating.
