Williamston -

Linda Hollis Gardner, 77, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024. Her journey began on April 9, 1946 in Martin County, daughter of James Norman and Nellie Downs Hollis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Douglas Gardner and sisters, Norma Faye Phelps and Deloris Gaynell Hollis.

She is survived by her children, Clyde Raymond Poston, Jr of Williamston, James Overton Poston (Teri) of Beargrass, Gail Poston Roebuck (William), Melissa Poston Harrison (Chris) and Henry Kent Poston (Kelly), all of Williamston and sister, Nadine Hollis Wynn (Gerald). Linda will also be missed by her grandchildren, Johnny Poston (Kiah), Francis Poston, James Poston (Liz), Jessica Davis (Adam), Daniel Bullock, Nickalis Bullock, Sarah Harrison and Christopher Harrison and great-grandchildren, Nova Poston, Layla and Joshua Keel, River and Lyla Poston, and Duke and Lorelei Davis.

Linda had a knack for crocheting and sewing and was a sewing machine operator at the now historical June Day factory in Williamston. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling and thrifting. Her thrifting adventures often led to her purchasing antiques or various stamps for her collections. She also enjoyed collecting jewelry of various kinds and styles. While all of these hobbies were special to Linda, nothing was greater to her than spending time with her family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

The family will have a private memorial service.
