Pinetops -

Linda Faye "Nana" Owens, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Bryan Health & Rehab in Scotland Neck, NC. She was born on February 11, 1944 in Edgecombe County to Raymond and Irene Griffin Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben, John, and Melton Owens; sister, Lois Owens Vick; and great-niece, Caroline Rose Proctor.

She is survived by her loving family including her children, Robin Ruffin Hobgood (Jason) of Pinetops and Brenda Newcombe (Johnny) of Elm City; sisters, Jean Rose Owens Thorpe of Elm City, and Carolyn Owens Reason of Rocky Mount; and devoted life-long friend, Jane Reaves (Jesse Fleming) of Macclesfield. Nana was especially proud of her beloved grandchildren, Thomas Alan "T.C." Cooper (Ashley Dail) of Macclesfield, Elanie Danielle Webb (Ben Skaggs) of Nashville, Meredith Marie Page (Chris Lawson) of Chicod, Ryan Christopher Scott of Pinetops, Taylor Brooke Hobgood of Pinetops, Travis Newcombe (Tessa) of Holly Springs, and Hunter Newcombe (Samantha) of Cabot, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Savannah Dail, Colton Cooper, Lexi Skaggs, Nathan Lawson, Abigail Newcombe, and newest addition, Baby Parker Andrew Skaggs, due in March, 2022. Nana will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Pineview Cemetery, Pinetops.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 4 at the home of Jason and Robin Hobgood.
