IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linna
Hunt
October 6, 1958 – November 18, 2025
Middlesex -
Linna "Lakey" Hunt, 67, of Middlesex, NC, went home to be with The Lord on November 18, 2025.
Born on October 6, 1958, in Tarboro, NC, Linna was the daughter of the late Vernon and Virginia Denton. She grew up surrounded by a large, close-knit family, and carried that same love and loyalty into every stage of her life.
Linna loved to laugh and was always the first to choose a movie that guaranteed smiles over tears. Holidays were her favorite time of year. She loved to cook big meals for her family - meals that always seemed to stretch far enough to feed friends and neighbors too. Her banana pudding, a favorite of all who tasted it, will always be remembered with love. She had a special place in her heart for all of the dogs she cared for over the years, loving each one as if they were her own children. Linna loved Nascar and no one ever cheered for Rusty Wallace with more heart or loyalty than she did. She also loved cheering for Duke basketball and the Dallas Cowboys.
Linna's faith carried her throughout her life, and her family finds peace in knowing she is now healed, whole, and resting in the presence of her Savior.
Linna's greatest earthly treasures were her family. She is survived by her husband Randell Hunt; her daughter Wendy Scott and husband David of Angier, NC; and her stepdaughter Kim Gilliam and husband Michael of Youngsville, NC. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Austin, Taylor, Alex, Ryan, and Damian. She is also survived by her siblings: Carolyn (Jerry) Hollis of Pinetops, NC; Buck Denton of Tarboro, NC; and Colleen Fisher and husband Jimmy of Zebulon, NC; as well as her beloved nieces Sharon Lassiter and Hope Edwards, and several great-nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held at Five Points Community Church in Zebulon, NC on November 25, 2025 at 1:00; Service starting at 2:00 with burial following at Oakdale Cemetery in Spring Hope, NC.
