Battleboro –
Lucy G. Salter, age 68, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Her journey began on April 28, 1955 in Montgomery County to George and Emily Robertson Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Green and sister, Betty Jo McIntyre.
She leaves a lifetime of memories for her husband of thirty years, William Lee Salter; sons, Bruce Harding (Kristen) of Zebulon, Dwayne Harding (Missy) of Franklinton, Russell Harding (Renee) of Rocky Mount, Eric Harding (fiancée Laurel) of Greenville and Daniel Reeves of Battleboro; step-son, Jeremy Salter of Wisconsin; brothers, Cary Green (Tina), Scott Green, Tim Green (Maryann) and Ted Green (Shannon); along with other extended relatives, friends and her Englewood Baptist Church family.
Known as "Grandma", Lucy adored her grandchildren, Jarrett Harding, Logan Harding, Malory Harding, Travis Harding, Taylor Hamernick (Gabe), Caitlin Page, Will Harding, Cody Salter and Hunter Salter and two great-grandchildren.
Lucy was a devoted Christian who was a twenty-year member at Englewood Baptist Church. When she wasn't attending Sunday School, she could be found outside gardening, watering and tending to her flowers or relaxing on the porch watching the hummingbirds. Lucy was also an avid craftsman who enjoyed weaving baskets, embroidering, monogramming, and sewing. Best of all, her family looked forward to her wonderful meals that included things she had grown in her garden, canned jellies and jams, and her home-made, fresh peach ice cream. Lucy touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
