Obituary

Macclesfield -

Frances Lynette Allen was born on July 2, 1953, to Franklin and Joyce Webb. She went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Lynette Allen was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She poured her heart into caring for others, beginning with many years of operating an in-home daycare. She later continued her service to the community by working in the cafeteria at South West Edgecombe High School and by driving an EC bus for Edgecombe County.

Through her work and her everyday kindness, Lynette touched the lives of many. She cared deeply for the people around her including children she babysat, students, colleagues, and neighbors, offering compassion, patience, and encouragement to everyone she met. Her legacy is one of generosity, warmth, and a genuine love for helping others. She fought a courageous battle against cancer but never lost her faith in the Lord. Lynette was married to the love of her life, Dennis Allen, for 53 years. She became a loving mother to three wonderful children, but her favorite role of all was being "Grandma Nett" to her 10 grandchildren. She cherished the annual beach trips where she was able to spend time with the whole family. To her grandkids she was an amazing storyteller, sharing memories from her childhood, motherhood, babysitting, and bus driving. Her fictional stories, where the grandchildren were the main characters, were always the best. She took them on many adventures through her imagination and walks outdoors, teaching them so much along the way.

Lynette's favorite place to be was outside working in her yard. She loved all things nature, planting various types of plants, caring for animals (especially her dogs), and watching hummingbirds. She was very creative and enjoyed starting new projects in her yard, often restoring decorative yard items. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Dennis, sisters Patricia Keel and Janice Halverson, son Russell (Carrie), daughter Jennifer, son Chris, and grandchildren Emma, Eli, Levi, Luke, William, Damion, Chase, Hunter, Gabby, Gage, and her furbabies Butch and Beavis.

The family will host a celebration of Nett's life on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Eagles Baptist Church in Macclesfield, with visitation at 2:00 pm and service to follow at 3:00 p.m
