Lynnette Anne Faith Whitaker, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Tarboro on Friday, January 3, 2025. Our mother was the strongest, most selfless woman we have ever known. Her love for her family was truly genuine. She was very proud of her family. With a heart of gold compared to no one. Our mother faced a lot of struggles in her life along with surviving cancer and a massive heart attack. The last few years she had been bed ridden due to complications from Covid. She will be remembered for all her sacrifices to her family, her generosity, and her sweet spirit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber Whitaker; parents, Paul E. Whitaker and Gladys "Judy" Whitaker and great-grandson, Benjamin Paul Godwin.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Pylant (Joseph), Jacki Godwin, Bill Worsley and Susan Worsley, all of Tarboro; grandchildren, Jonathan Godwin (Courtney), Ashley Godwin, Elizabeth Worsley (James), Matthew Godwin (Chelsea), Amanda Marshall (John), Nicholas Worsley (Kristie), Erica Brewer (Jordan) and Joni Pylant and 16 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her siblings, Donnie Whitaker, Bentley Whitaker, Billie Whitaker (Doris) and Debbie Wooten, all of Conetoe.

The family will host a memorial service at 11am on Friday, January 10, 2024 at His Vision Ministry, 1903 Anaconda Road, Tarboro NC 27886 with Pastor Jay Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Jacki Godwin, 1509 West Hills Drive, Tarboro, NC.
