Marie Sutton Boyd, age 81, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. She was born on April 15, 1940 in Edgecombe County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. "Ed" Boyd; parents, Bonnie Sutton and Eva Taylor Sutton; and sister, Betty Jo.

She is survived by her children, Renee Grove of Rocky Mount, Eddie Ray Boyd (Debbie) of Greenville, Randy Alan Boyd of Pinetops, and Walter Brian Boyd (Heather) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Cameron Morrison, Autumn Grove, Jennifer Kalhi, and Lauren Chapel; great-grandchildren, Emma Lynn Roach and McKinleigh Roach; siblings, Ruth Bunting of Tarboro, Loretta Sutton of Tarboro, Donald Ray Sutton of Tarboro, Herbert Sutton of Fayetteville, and Deanie Dodd of Scotland Neck; along with her devoted yorkie, Chloe, extended relatives, and family friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, February 11, 2022 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 700 W. Howard Avenue, Tarboro. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
