Marjorie Ann Finch Pearce, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at her home. Her journey began on March 5, 1936, the only child born to James Lawson and Annie Lue Finch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gordon Pearce.
Marjorie was born and raised in Nash County, North Carolina. At sixteen, she married Henry at Bailey Baptist Church on July 4, 1952 and they began their journey together. They created a beautiful life spanning sixty-five years, and were blessed with their two sons, Gordon and James. Throughout her life, Marjorie held many titles in several fields of work, but her favorite was being a wife and mother. For the last forty years, she spent her days taking care of her father, mother and husband, gladly taking on a new role: caregiver.
In her spare time, she enjoyed working outside, planting flowers and gardening. Marjorie also had a knack for crafting, especially sewing, ceramics, decorating, and painting. Above all, she took pride in providing for her family by cooking delicious meals and spending cherished time with her sons and grandchildren.
Marjorie leaves a lifetime of treasured memories for her sons, Gordon Ray Pearce and James Roger Pearce, and wife, Dana, all of Bailey and grandchildren, Haiven and Julie.
A service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church, 758 Friendship Church Road, Middlesex, NC, 27557. Interment will follow at the Town of Bailey Cemetery, NC-581, Bailey. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm and other times at the home.
The family extends their gratitude to her sitter / caregiver: Mrs. Carmilita Williams, and all the Nash Hospice nurses and staff for their outstanding care and concern of Marjorie.
