Rocky Mount –

Mark Dial, age 68, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Nash UNC Health Care in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was born on April 12, 1955 in Herrin, Illinois to William and Naydean Harris Dial. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg Dial and Bruce Dial and sisters Ruth Ann VanDyke and Beth Stroup.

He is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Laura Dial; sons, William Dial of Glouchester, Virginia and Bradley Michael Dial (Jody) of Corinth, Kentucky; along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Mark was a Sergeant in the US Army in the mid-70s.  He loved his country and served proudly.  After the Army, he went to work for Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries in Newport News, Virginia. He retired from the Shipyard in 2016. After retirement, Mark enjoyed travelling; he took pleasure in the adventure of new places, cultures and experiences. Mark always saw the good in everyone.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 2:00PM at Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville, NC.
