Mark Daniel Sundbom, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Born on December 19, 1968 to Leroy and Carolyn Sundbom, Mark leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Mark is survived by his devoted wife of twenty-two years, Ayra Sundbom, and their two daughters, Jolyna and Logan Sundbom.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Arvid and Irene Sundbom; maternal grandparents, Robert and Harriet Himrod; aunt, Deborah Underwood; and uncle, David Lillegard.

He is mourned by his parents Leroy and Carolyn; brother, Paul Sundbom; sister, Rachel Mayville (Tim); mother-in-law, Sandra Mathis; sister/brother-in-law, Aja and Jorge Perdomo; aunts, Gail Himrod and Ione Lillegard; uncle, Bruce Himrod (Michelle); nieces and nephews, Joshua, Jared, and Maeghan Sundbom, Ava and Sorsha Mayville, Steel Lawson and Berlyn and Capri Perdomo. Mark will be deeply missed by many friends, his library colleagues, his 4-H family, and other extended relatives.

Mark, a loving husband and father, helped and supported his family in their love of animals and livestock at the family farm, Bearadise. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and he held a special place in the hearts of those he loved, and they loved him equally in return. Ayra, his wife, also mourns the loss of her best friend of the past 30 years.

Mark, well-known in the community, served as an independent IT Systems contractor for the Halifax County Library System, Edgecombe County Memorial Library System, and H.D. Cooley Library in Nashville.

Mark Daniel Sundbom's memory will endure through the lives he touched, the professional legacy he leaves behind, and the love he shared with family and friends.

A Celebration of Mark's life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
