Wilson –

Michael Eugene Taylor, Sr. "Tater Bud", went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at his home with his devoted family by his side. His journey began on October 22, 1960 in Wilson County, son of Gene and Hazel Pittman Taylor, both of whom preceded him in death.

A student of carpentry craftsmanship since his teen years, Mike's boundless creativity, professional skills and ability to build anything without the aid of blueprints was astounding. His creative imagination and eye for design added to his incredible craftsmanship and tinkering skills. From construction to small machinery, he could design, build, or fix almost any project that he set his mind and hands to tackle.

Being outdoors gave Mike a special connection with nature and our Creator. He could easily busy himself from sunup to sundown working on different projects, fishing, or grilling out with family and friends.

Mike had a passion for life, love and friendships. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and dear friend who touched many lives and will never be forgotten.

Mike is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of forty-two years, Tammy Woodard Taylor; son, Michael Eugene "Little Mike" Taylor, Jr.; daughter, Linn Whitson; son-in-law, Terry Whitson, all of Stantonsburg; siblings, Johnny Taylor (Freida), Steve Taylor (Lou) and Laura Taylor Barnes (Frances L.), all of Wilson; canine companion, Molly; along with several nieces, nephews and his Down East Baptist Church family.

Mike was a proud PaPa and adored his grandchildren, Kayleigh, Sabrina, Hunter, Lynda, Justin, Michael III "Mikey", Luke, Levi and MaKenzie.

A service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Good News Advent Christian Church, 6990 Good News Church Road, Stantonsburg, NC 27883. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Floral tributes are welcome or you may consider memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
