Michael "Mack" Wayne Lynch

With the love of his family surrounding him, Michael “Mack” Wayne Lynch, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home in Rocky Mount, NC on Thursday morning, June 11, 2026 at the age of 74.

Mack was born in Halifax County, NC on September 21, 1951, to Rossie and Louise Lynch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, three sisters and daughter-in-law, Angel Lynch.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Lynch of Rocky Mount; sons, Jeffrey Lynch of Whitakers and Michael Lynch, Jr. (Laura) of Chocowinity; daughter, Michelle Cannady of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Alexis Moody, Christopher and Jaiana Cannady, Raylee Lynch and Chaz Roberson; four great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Massenburg of Nashville; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Mack was a member of the Rocky Mount Bowling Hall of Fame. Everyone knew when he was bowling as you would hear him say “like it had eyes”. Mack had built a lot of lasting friendships through bowling. Mack also enjoyed being outside, especially while mowing grass.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, bowling enthusiast and friend, Mack will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
