Rocky Mount -

Mildred "Millie" Crusenberry, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday morning, February 25, 2025. She was born in Edgecombe County on September 20, 1937 to William Ralph and Louise Proctor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Crusenberry; son, Donnie Crusenberry; and several siblings.

She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughter, Tina Matthews (Paul) of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Karen Crusenberry of Rocky Mount; sisters, Ida Ruth Lancaster (Frank) and Pat Rose (Robert), all of Sharpsburg, and Alma Wilkins of Rocky Mount; along with several nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.

Millie was especially proud of her six grandchildren, Matt Boone (Jennifer), Chris Boone (Danielle), D.J. Crusenberry (Tracey), Ben Crusenberry, (Leanne), Brittany Pennington (Junior), Kaitlin Fogleman (Tyler) and fifteen great-grandchildren with two precious new ones expected in March and June 2025.

A service to remember and celebrate Millie's life will take place at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 28, 2025 at NorthSide Church, 1600 Beaver Pond Rd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 27, also at NorthSide Church.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Hospice of Wilson and nurses, Ann Swayer, Tiffany Casper, Jessica Williams, Sarah Smith and Christy Parker as well as her caretaker of three years, Bernadette Dawson for their wonderful care of our Millie.
