Myrna Lu "Peggy" T. Johnson, age 80, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2022. She was born in Nash County on June 24, 1942 to Oscar and Estelle Gardner Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmie Hines Taylor.

She leaves behind a lifetime of memories for her husband of 56 years, James R. Johnson; nephew, James Taylor and other extended relatives and friends.

Peggy was a devout Christian who was strong in her faith. She attended Oakdale Baptist Church for many years and helped in many capacities. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 2:30PM at Oakdale Baptist Church, 13037 US Highway 64 Alt W, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. Interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM.
