Neil Wilson, age 59, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 28, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. He was born on July 3, 1965 in Wilson county to David Raymond Wilson and Belinda Craft Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Wilson; niece, Amber Wilson and nephew, Jeffrey Wilson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-five years, Rebecca "Becky" Hughes Wilson; children, Shawn Perry of Lucama, Pamela Dixon (Domonique) of Rocky Point and Linsey Burton (Ray) of Sims; brother, Glenn Wilson (Sherry) of Elm City; beloved pet dogs, Roscoe and Girl; cat, Lucky and several nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
He was especially proud of and adored his grandchildren, Ava Perry, Brianna Durham, Jirah and Jalia Joseph-Dixon, Bryson Dixon, and Jameson and Liam Burton.
Neil owned and operated Wilson's Painting Services for twenty-nine years, showcasing his dedication and work ethic. He was the epitome of hard work, but his love for his family was even more profound; they were his everything. Neil was the rock of his family, always ready to go the extra mile for them.
Neil also had a passion for cooking and loved hosting parties and get-togethers whenever he could. In his free time, you could find him cruising on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, enjoying the open road. While he had a tough exterior, he had a heart of gold and would gladly give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it. Neil was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend and will be missed beyond measure.
In honor of Neil's love for food and fellowship, the family is hosting a remembrance cookout at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Lucama Community Building, 503 S Main Street, Lucama, NC 27851. This will be a time to share memories and reminisce with those fortunate enough to have known Neil.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to assist with expenses.
