Neta Rackley Wood, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

She was born to John and Maggie Winstead Rackley on July 23, 1930 in Rocky Mount. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waverly Wood; sister, Maggie Lee Driver; and two brothers, Medy and Atlas Rackley.

She will always be remembered and deeply missed by her eleven nieces and nephews, a loving church family, and many friends.

Neta was loaded with experience and knowledge that she shared with others. She had a servant's heart, ready to do for others and meet any needs that she could for her family, friends, and neighbors. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed sharing her talents with them.

A celebration of Neta's life will be held 2 PM, Friday, March 5, 2021, in the Chapel Mausoleum on the Hill at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In keeping with current safety measures, facial coverings and social distancing are respectfully requested.
