Norma Eason Bozelle

Norma Eason Bozelle, age 82, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home Thursday morning, July 2, 2026. She was born in Nash County on October 20, 1943 to Henry and Estelle Pittman Eason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Nate Joseph Bozelle, and their son, Philip Joseph Bozelle.

She is survived by a loving family including her daughter, Ellen Bozelle Morrison and husband, William of Selma, NC; grandchildren, Hunter Bozelle of Rocky Mount, Zachery Bozelle of Nashville, Richard Morrison of Wendell and Mitchell Morrison of Spruce Pine; great-grandchildren, Grace and Emaree Morrison and several extended relatives.

Norma took on the role of caregiver early in her life when her mother was hospitalized for an extended period. At age 12 she was preparing full meals and running a household during her mother’s absence. She grew up as a member of Barnes Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church and as an adult, she was the youth choir director as well as a part of youth ministry. She made numerous Wednesday night trips out of her way to make certain any child that wanted to attend mid-week Bible study and choir practice could do so. To many children, including some extended family members, she was a second mother. She was always there to provide support and perspective. She opened her home to individuals who had nowhere else to go and expected nothing in return. In the public sector, she was dedicated to her role as Accounts Payable Administrator for 50 years. She kept her position through at least six company buy outs which was a testament to her work and work ethic.

A service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Barnes Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church, 5592 West Mount Drive, Nashville, NC 27856. The family will receive friends following the service beginning at approximately 11:45am until 1:45pm.

In lieu of flowers, Norma requested we remember her with conscious and deliberate acts of kindness and goodwill extended to our neighbors, family, friends, and strangers.
