On the afternoon of his 76th birthday, Noyel John Medford finished his race here on earth and began his new life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Noyel passed away peacefully July 12, 2022 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC, with his devoted family by his side.

Noyel's journey began July 12, 1946 in Martin County as a son born to Mack and Gladys Lewis Medford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Harvey Medford. He was a longtime member of Hobgood Pentecostal Holiness Church and a proud career veteran, having served honorably in the United States National Guard.

He is survived by a loving family including his wife of almost fifty-five years, Delores "Lois Ann" Owens Medford; children, Angela Gail Medford Skipper (Brian) of Tarboro, Connie Medford Watkins (Lee) of Rocky Mount, and Sherry Medford Webb (Daniel) of Tarboro; siblings, Samuel "Sam" Medford (Marie) of Tarboro, Ray Medford (Estelle) of Tarboro, Meryl Cullifer of Tennessee, Marie Harper (Jerry), Ann House (Haywood), and Jean Pittman (Glenn), all of Tarboro; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, all of whom were dear to his heart.

He was especially proud of his grandchildren, John "JW" Medford (Jessica) of Rocky Mount, Brandon Watkins (Maggie) of Rocky Mount, Dillon Skipper of Tarboro, Zach Webb (Kayla) of Pinetops, and Seth Webb of Tarboro and his great-grandchildren, Judah, Julien, John Wesley, and Tucker Lee, due in December, 2022.

A service to celebrate Noyel's life will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:00PM at Hobgood Pentecostal Holiness Church, 208 S. Bay Street, Hobgood, NC with Pastor Dwight Jones officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM and other times at the home.
