IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick "Pat"
Thigpen
September 21, 1957 – October 23, 2025
"God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, 'Come to Me."
Tarboro -
With his beloved wife, Bernedett by his side, Patrick Anthony Thigpen, age 68, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, October 23, 2025, at the ECU Cancer Center of Greenville, following a brief illness. He was born In Bainbridge, Maryland on September 21, 1957 to Archie and Edna Thigpen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Paula Thigpen. Patrick leaves a lifetime of wonderful memories for his wife of twenty years, Bernedett; children Coty, Meredith, and Justin; and stepdaughters whom he loved as his own, Stacy Stewart (Brian) and Reva Coker (James "Boogie" Housand). Patrick's legacy will also live on through his grandchildren, Kadence, Kinley, Damian, and Spencer, who referred to him as their "Mr. Pops", as well as his beloved grand-dogs, Rocky, Izzy, and Kash.
Patrick was a hard worker who retired from Consolidated Diesel(Cummins) Company after twenty-eight years of dedicated service. Following retirement, he enjoyed spending time working in the yard, tackling many projects, and finding joy in simple pleasures. He was a lover of the beach, where he found peace and relaxation and his love for music led him to many concerts and nights of dancing with friends and family. Above all else, "Pat" was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace. The family will host a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Christ Church at Old Sparta, 1-191 Lance Lane, Macclesfield, NC 27856. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Church at Old Sparta in Patrick's memory, as he loved his home church, Pastor Jim Ellis and the community it supported.
