S. Paul "Goodboy" Varnell was completely healed and welcomed into the arms of his heavenly Father on Sunday, January 31, 2021. He was born to parents, Oscar and Rosa Webb Varnell on December 22, 1939 in Kingsboro, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy, Woodrow, Carl, Robert Perry, Allen, Joe Clyde, and Clayton Varnell; sisters, Mamie Wooten, Betsy Griffin, Blanche Rose, Nettie Varnell, and Nell Hagans.

Paul leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories for his former wife and best friend, Faye W. Varnell; daughters, Charlotte V. Beck and Paula V. Walker and husband, Tim; grandsons, Christopher and Brandon Walker; granddaughter, Megan Beck; great-granddaughter, Kadence; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Varnell Family Cemetery, Hwy 124 West, Macclesfield, NC 27852. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family respectfully requests facial coverings and social distancing guidelines be followed.
