Peggy Ann Carpenter, age 72, passed away Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 at Nash UNC Health Care.

Peggy was born May 15, 1948 in Nash County to Albert F. and Kellon House Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert F. "Junior" Carpenter, Jr.

She leaves a lifetime of wonderful memories for her loving family that includes three children, Burlon E. Bailey of Nashville, Annette B. Kelly of Rocky Mount, and Jody T. Evans (Lisa) of Nashville; sisters, Undine C. Faucette of Louisburg, Audrey C. Long of Nashville, Julie C. Howard (Pat) of Rocky Mount; and sister-in-law, Brenda Carpenter of Nashville. She was especially proud of her four grandchildren, Matthew Kelly, Brandon Kelly, Jordan Evans, and Haley Evans; and great-grandson, Carter Kelly. Peggy will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family friends, and other extended relatives.

A graveside service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 20th at Forest Hills Cemetery, Nashville. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
