On August 26th, 2020, Philip Byron Hill went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Byron was born to Alton Owen and Betty Vaden Hill on September 8, 1956 in Stoneville, North Carolina. Welcoming him home are his father, Alton O. Hill; brother, Johnny Rose; grandmothers, Gertrude Hill and Leak Vaden; grandfather, Harvey Hill; and uncle, Milton "Shorty" Hill.
Byron loved watching and coaching baseball, singing and playing guitar and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed serving the Lord with his Brothers in Christ as a member of the "set-up" team at Englewood Baptist Church.
His loving family that survives includes son, Braxton Hill; daughter, Ashley Hill; and mother, Betty Thompson. He also leaves his three grandchildren: Makayla Grace and Justice, Aiden Hill; brothers Matt Hill, Robert James "Bobby" Rose, sister Kim Hill and his best friend and wife, Denise Oakley Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
