Ray P. "Jack" Felton, age 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021. He was born on August 22, 1942 in Wilson, NC to William and Mearl Pearson Felton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ellen Felton; brother, Larry Felton; and sister, Rose Felton Hawley.

He is survived by his children, Melcher Delano Smith (Laurie) of Tarboro, Joe S. Smith, Jr. (Sandra) of Rocky Mount, Michael Keith Smith (Shelia) of Zebulon and Kelly Greene (Jody) of High Point; siblings, Judy Edwards (Charles) of Winston-Salem, Barbara Toler (Maurice) of Raleigh, Faye Felton of Wilson, William R. "Bill" Felton, Jr. (Betty) of Alabama; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Felton of Oxford; He also leaves seven grandchildren, Brittany Morris (Robby), Michael Ray Smith, David Smith, Andrew Smith, Del Smith (Jennifer), Blake Whichard (Emily) and Josh Whichard; great-granddaughter, Zoey Whichard; along with many nieces, nephews, and family friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, August 20 at Northside Church, 1660 Beaver Pond Dr., Rocky Mount with interment following at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
