Rocky Mount -

Rebecca "Becky" Byrd Bullock, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024.  Born on September 12, 1929, Becky was the daughter of William M. Byrd and Eliza Mae Byrd.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, William D. Bullock and brothers, Charles Byrd, Richard Byrd, Thomas Byrd and June Byrd.

Becky is survived by her daughters, Pat Cyrus-Karr (Randy) and Debbie Valentine (Roland); grandson and apple of her eye, Zachery Cyrus (Kelsey); great grandson, Shepherd Cyrus; granddaughter, Michele Karr; special niece, Sue Calverley and longtime companion, Ruby Avent. In addition, Becky had a long list of extended family.

Becky was a member of the Englewood Garden Club, Pilot Club, and First United Methodist Church. She cherished memories of living at Atlantic Beach during the summers with her grandson, Zachery and attending soccer and tennis matches. She loved her flowers and playing in the dirt. Becky made so many friends playing cards- Bridge and Cutthroat. Most of all, she loved her family. Becky enjoyed family reunions and holidays when everyone would come home. She was a special Southern Bell and loved life.

We would like to thank the staff at Breckenridge Senior Living for loving our Mom and taking such good care of her. The staff became her extended family. She loved all of you and you will always have a special place in our hearts.

We would also like to thank UNC Health Nash Hospice and Palliative Care. They supported Becky and our family with love and dignity.

The family will have a private burial at a future date.
