Revil Lee Sykes, age 84, passed away at his home Thursday morning, August 6th, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Barrett and Mary Alice Jones Sykes; sons, Michael Lee Sykes and Robert Lee Sykes; brother, Charles Braxton Sykes; and sister, Ruby Summerlin.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Paige Sykes; daughter, Christina Barfield (Jerry); step-sons, Thomas Garrett Bailey of MD. and Justin Wade Bailey of OK.; siblings, Samuel Sykes (Janice) of Va., Virginia Aycock (David) of Enfield, Ruth Bowden, also of Enfield, Stewart Sykes (Ann) of Whitakers, Brenda Rector (Roy) of TN, William Sykes of Va., Alice Crickmore (Steve) of Rocky Mount, and Tony Sykes, also of Rocky Mount. He also leaves two grandchildren, Jarrett Barfield and Kristy Sykes Rodman; great-grandson, Mason Rodman, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service for the family will be held at Whitakers United Methodist Church.
