Scotland Neck -

Richard Allen Nelms, age 62, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Accordius Health at Scotland Manor in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. He was born on August 10, 1961, in Nash County to Marvin Earl and Geraldine Brown Nelms. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Nelms and sisters, Mary Viverette and Susan McLean.

He is survived by his brother, Ben Nelms and wife, Janet of Rocky Mount; sister, Nancy Bass and husband, Tim of Nashville; along with several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
