Rocky Mount -

Richie Lynn Scott, age 71, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his home. His journey began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 25, 1952, son of David and Susie Arrington Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terrance Odom; grandson, Deonte Scott and sister, Beverly Merritt.

He is survived by his daughters, Cherie Scott (Sharita) and Tara Scott, all of Rocky Mount; brother, Vincent Scott (Mary) of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Journey Granger, Ahmir Scott, Kamall Scott (Quanae), Khalil Scott, and Danny Hedgepeth and great-grandchildren, Kamden, Kyler and Kash.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
