Robert D. Manning, Sr., 72, of Battleboro, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Manning and brother, David Manning.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lessie Manning; sons, Robert D. Manning, Jr. (Erin) of Nashville; Clifton Darrell Manning of Rocky Mount; mother, Dollie Mae Williams of Nashville; sisters, Della Parrish (Wesley) and Carol Hyde (Frankie), all of Nashville; sisters-in-law, Rae Manning and Margaret Kennedy; brothers, Tim Manning (Kathy) of Elm City and James Joyner (Cathy) of Rocky Mount; along with several nieces and nephews and his loyal canine companion and baby girl, Bridget. He was especially proud of his granddaughters, Alyssa Blair Manning of Rocky Mount, Kelsey Manning of Kernersville and Lacey Manning of Raleigh; and great-granddaughter, Lilliana of Kernersville.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed.

A service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 2:00PM at NorthSide Church, 1660 Beaver Pond Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Entombment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 12:30PM.
