Rocky Mount -

Robert Earl Poland, 49, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 11, 2022.  He was employed by the City of Rocky Mount as a Computer Aided-Design draftsman in the Engineering Department.  He also served faithfully at Cornerstone Community Church as their sound technician and many other capacities of Christian service.  Robert had a heart for ministry and served as a godly role model to children and young adults at Cornerstone Community Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Victor Enfield and Cora Louise Poland; aunts, Annie Mae Batchelor and Peggy Ann Parker; and uncle, Johnny Keith Poland.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Brown Poland; father, Victor Earl Poland and his wife, Maryann; daughter, Sarah Megan Alderman (James) of Wilson; granddaughter, Sydney "Booga" Blake Alderman; along with many beloved aunts, uncles and other extended relatives.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 3:00 PM, at Cornerstone Community Church, Rocky Mount.  The family will begin receiving friends at 2:00 PM.
