Scotland Neck -

Robert Shane Ratcliffe, age 55, passed away on Saturday evening, April 18, 2026, at home surrounded by his mother and children. He was born in Fairfax, Virginia on February 20, 1971.

He is survived by his children, Randall Ratcliffe, Kaitlyn Ratcliffe (Jonathon), Holly "Hollywood" Ratcliffe, Alyssa "Sissabug" Silver (Dillon), all of Front Royal, Virginia, Colton "Boleboy" Ratcliffe (Whitney) of Strasburg, Virginia, Leaira "Punkin Girl" Ratcliffe (Josh) and mother, Shirley Charles of Scotland Neck, and the mother of his children, Joy, of Front Royal, Virginia; and his canine companion and trusty Yorkie, Sheba.

Shane will also be missed by his grandchildren, Brycen, Kyndel, Aleeyah, Aibrean, Adalyn, Zepplin, Lainey, and Makayla, along with many extended relatives.

Shane was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed everything that nature had to offer. He oftentimes found peace in the outdoors, whether he was fishing or riding his Harley Davidson down a long, backroad, just enjoying the scenery. Shane was a successful business owner; he managed a construction and plumbing service since 1990 and a historical restoration company since 1995. For more than 30 years, his dedication to his career fields were evident and he made many lifelong customers and friends along the way.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
