Rocky Mount -

Ruth Rolfe, 76 of Rocky Mount, NC passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024. She was born in Cornwall, NY in 1947 to Ed and Corabelle Swenson.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandma, great-grandma and friend. She loved the Lord with all her heart and had always been a part of serving in her church by teaching Sunday School. She had a deep love for animals (her own as well as wild) and respected nature as much as she did herself. She loved reading and all things outdoors. Taking walks with her children and grandchildren/great-grandchildren was one of her favorites.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Corabelle Swenson, and her sister Janet Yeoman. Also her brothers in law, Jerry Rosier, George Bruyn and Wesley Yeoman.

She leaves behind her husband of almost 58 years, Ted Rolfe, daughters, Brenda Clark (Rob), Chrissy Foland and son, Dan Rolfe (Autumn). Grandchildren, Andy Walker (Tisha), Rachel Walker (Brian), Evan Rolfe, Steven Foland, Stephanie Annan, Shannon Wright (Sam), Danny Annan, Rebecca Foland (David), Jenna Overton (Caleb), Matty Annan, Hannah Annan (Michael), Joshua Rolfe and Jeremy Rolfe. Great-grandchildren Landon, Kyleigh, Elora, Grayson, and Emma. Her sisters, Carol Rosier, Joyce Bruyn and brother in law Larry Rolfe. And lots of nieces and nephews. She also left behind a very special friend, Mary Mock.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Please send any donations to the Alzheimer's Association. A special thank you to the Ahoskie Health and Rehab facility for taking amazing care of Ruth in her final days.
