Rocky Mount –

Sandra Edith Turner, age 75, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 surrounded by her family.  Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Joel "Joe" Walter Turner; son, Joey Turner, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Maxine Bowen Turner; and brothers, Elwood and Kenneth Keen.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Turner of Sharpsburg, Brian Turner of Elm City; daughter, Dana Carter (Phil) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Daniel Turner, Kenan Turner, Micaela Turner, Jonathan Sanderson, Cody Ashburn, Kailey Cobb, Stephanie Turner, Nicholas DeWolfe, Chelsea Smith; step grandchildren, Cheyenne, Rocky, Ayden, and Abel Carter; great grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Talton, Talen, Mariah, Johanna; and sisters, Faye Beddingfield (Walter) of Rocky Mount and Peggy Bass of Elm City.

Sandra will be missed by her two special friends, Sandra Schonemann and Jessica Tharrington.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice for their compassion and care that was provided for Sandra during these difficult times.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, 2:00 PM, at Englewood Assembly of God Church, 2181 South Halifax Road, Rocky Mount, 27803.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
