Shelvy Wallace Luper, age 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Her journey began in Edgecombe County on March 24, 1938 to Albert L. and Mildred Johnson Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny R. Luper; sister, Dale Proctor; brother, Eddie Wallace; brothers-in-law, Lee Roy "Scott" Bulluck and Isaac Tyndall; and granddaughter, Ashlyne Farrow.

She leaves a lifetime of memories for her children, Windy D. Braswell (Steven), Joseph "Al" Daughtridge (Vicki) and Wesley Daughtridge (Tarina); sisters, Ethel Bulluck, Janet Tyndall and Becky Neville (Bill); brothers, Kenneth Wallace (Rose), John Wallace (Ellice) and James Wallace (Karen). She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

Shelvy was especially proud of and adored her grandchildren, Brad Braswell, Brooks Braswell, Cole Daughtridge, Rayce Daughtridge, Brian Arrington (Caroline), Brent Arrington, Adam Henley (Azusa) and Ashley Merritt (Bradley) and ten great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited for a special time to remember and celebrate Shelvy's life at her beloved Temperance Hall Church, 3834 Temperance Hall Rd, Elm City, NC 27822, on Saturday, July 6, 2024. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 am, with a service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at the Williams Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center , 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to Temperance Hall Church.
