Shirley Pierce Roberts

Shirley Pierce Staton Roberts, age 87, passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 17, 2026 at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her journey began in Edgecombe County on December 28, 1938, daughter of Robert Henry Pierce and Christine Rose Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Elliott Staton and Harold M. Roberts.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Staton Aldridge and husband, Bill of Raleigh, Beverly Roberts of Virginia, Debbie Pridgen of Raleigh and Karen Roberts of Florida; brother, Bobby Pierce and wife, Martha of Rocky Mount; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate Shirley's Homegoing will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20th, 2026  at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

A note of heartfelt gratitude is extended to the wonderful staffs of Heartland Hospice and Peaceful Home Care. Their special love and attention have truly been some of the most precious blessings for Shirley and her family.
