Nashville –

With his loving family and loyal dog, Dolly, by his side Steve M. Edwards, age 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday evening, January 27, 2023.  He was the son of the late Woodrow and Margaret Edwards. After growing up on the family farm, graduating from Nashville High School, serving in the U.S. Air Force, he later retired from Duke Energy as a Dispatch Supervisor.

Steve leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Matt Edwards (Mary); daughter, Tonya Craft (Hoyt); grandchildren, Johnathan Armstrong (Haley Bowen), Victoria  Edwards (Alan Barnes and his daughter, Paisley), James Armstrong (Lindsey Ray) and Alexandria "Grace" Edwards (JB Ngo);  brother, John Stanley Edwards (Marcia); sister, Margaret Ann Groome (Bill Edwards); aunt, Ola Mae "Polly" Matthews Rogers; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Elm Grove Baptist Church, 2385 Old Bailey Hwy, Nashville, NC.  Visitation will begin at 10:00am with a Celebration of Life at 11:00am. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Nashville, NC.
