Steven Scott Ezzell, 60, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Born on November 2, 1965, Steven lived a life that, at its core, was marked by a love for others and a willingness to help wherever he could. Steven found peace and joy in the simple things, time spent with family, casting a line while fishing, and being there for those who needed him. He had a giving spirit and a heart that cared deeply, even in the midst of life’s challenges. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his presence, and the quiet ways he showed love.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Casie; his father, Thomas Ezzell; and his uncle, Phil. While that loss shaped parts of his journey, his love for them never faded. Steven is survived by his mother, Judy Wallace Patterson of Spring Hope; his sisters, Dawn Shoemaker and her husband Dustin of Decatur, Mississippi, and Sandy Patterson of Spring Hope; along with many aunts, uncles, and nephews who will hold onto his memory and the moments they shared.

The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at West Mount Emanuel Holiness Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Though Steven’s life had its ups and downs, he leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and the reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.
