Terry Summerlin Walston, age 60, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, North Carolina. Terry came into our world on March 25, 1963 as Teresa Raye Summerlin, a daughter born to Albert Ray and Jean Toler Summerlin. As a daughter who adored her parents and a sister who cherished her siblings, she grew up with the importance of faith and family deeply instilled into her heart and reflected daily in her life. She became a mother who loved and protected her children without question and a Mammie completely devoted to her beloved grandchildren. Terry was a joyful soul; she loved life and spreading sunshine to friends, family, neighbors, and strangers. Her life was important because she touched so many others. She found sweet peace at the seashore and lived in awe of God's wonderful creation. Many wonderful and fun memories were made at the beach, music concerts, vacations, and friend and family gatherings. She was a treasured friend and an irreplaceable part of our family. We are deeply blessed and thankful to have had her in our lives and she will never be forgotten.

Terry was preceded in death by her father, Albert Ray Summerlin; and father-in-law, Ed Walston.

She leaves behind a lifetime of memories for her rock, best friend and husband of almost thirty years, Lamar Walston; mother, Jean Summerlin; daughters, Tiffany Morris Fleming (Jeremy) and Melissa Morris Fleming (Scott); sons, Derik Walston (Christie), all of Macclesfield, and Lee Walston (Jennifer) of Pinetops; brother, Albert Ray "Bubba" Summerlin, Jr. (Belinda) of Chocowinity; sister, Christie Walston (Derik); mother-in-law, Deane Walston of Rocky Mount; niece, Kerianne Summerlin and nephew, Jackson Summerlin.

Terry was especially proud of and adored her grandchildren, Jennifer Harrell (Daniel), Breanna Walston, Kevin Walston (Karlie), Caleb Walston (Mackenzie), Jacob Fleming, Taylor Fleming, Chance Myrick, Stella Fleming, Waylon Fleming; and great-grandchildren, Stephen Pittman, Emerson Harrell, Addison Harrell and Henley Walston.

She will also be missed by her sweet, furry companion, Buddy, aka "Bud Man", along with many wonderful friends and extended family members.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00PM Monday, June 5, 2023 at Pinetops Baptist Church, 710 W Hamlet Street, Pinetops, NC 27864. The family will receive friends prior to the service, in the fellowship hall, beginning at 5:00PM and other times at the home of Melissa and Scott Fleming, 746 Carr Farm Road, Macclesfield, NC 27852.
