Thomas Bright
Thomas Elton Bright, known by his trucking buddies as "Teardrop", passed away peacefully Friday evening, July 31, 2026 at the age of 86. He was born in Pasquotank County, North Carolina to William and Mary Hewitt Bright, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Hyde of Pinetops; grandson, Andrew Hyde (fiancee Rachel) of Rocky Mount; siblings, Doug Bright and wife, Linda of Newland and Susan Haubricach and husband, Bill of Elizabeth City; along with many extended relatives.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
